The new IEEE-1284 standard was developed to support high-speed bi-directional communication between computers and parallel printers. This standard provides maximum end-to-end attenuation not to exceed 1.5 dB at 5Mhz. Connect a data switch or PC to a parallel printer with the IEEE 1284-1394 parallel ports. The parallel printer cables interface IBM, PC, XT, AT, and PS/2 compatible computers with DB25 female parallel ports to all Epson, Hewlett Packard and compatible printers with 36 position Centronics female parallel ports. Works with IEEE-1284 compliant inkjet, laser, all-in one printer and scanners and other IEEE-1284 compliant peripherals. The IEEE-1284 cable provides increased speed and functionality over standard parallel cabling.
